Landscape Design
Landscape design is the core speciality of our practice and as such we employ talented and experienced designers. The scope and size of projects varies considerably, from input in to the siting and landscape design, of individual houses, through to working as part of a team on major reclamation sites, or planning new development areas. We aim to create both practical to achieve and sustainable landscapes.
TBA are one of the region’s leading experts on landscape design for housing and for that reason, work for many of the major developers in the North West and Midlands. The practice has worked on developments of all sizes and has covered a range of styles including affordable and social housing, ‘new town’ developments and bespoke high end projects.
The design of public open space and amenity landscapes forms a major part of the workload. This has often involved working from an initial concept design, through to construction on site. In many case consultations with community groups has formed a vital part of formulating the brief. The designs range from formal park settings, often in urban areas, through to naturalistic landscapes including new woodlands, wetlands and wildflower meadows. Specialist sports facilities have also been designed including bowling greens, football and cricket pitches and fitness trails.
Designs have been prepared for various commercial developments including both business parks and industrial sites. This has included proposals for both new build developments and for the refurbishment of older schemes, in need of refreshing. In many cases this has included working to the requirements of BREEAM.
Design work for specialist clients has included bespoke, landscape design, for educational and healthcare projects. For schools this has included outdoor classrooms and facilities for learning through play. With healthcare the emphasis is often on sensory gardens, for those with impaired senses or the problems associated with dementia.
